👨‍💻 Who am I?

Hi, I’m Michael Winter, a seasoned information technology professional with over 25 years of experience in data management, business intelligence (data warehousing, reporting, analytics, visualization), and Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML).

Throughout my career, I have successfully led global initiatives in business operations, business architecture, digital transformation, statutory compliance, real estate and facilities, executive engagement, and executive briefings. My work spans corporate finance and enterprise sales departments across organizations in Europe and the US.

Drawing from years of experience in global corporations, I offer deep philosophical inquiry and fresh, informed perspectives on critical topics like AI, ethics, and their societal impact.

Therefore, I’m sometimes referred to as the Philosopher-Practitioner of the Digital Age. I see myself as a Reflective Strategist and Analytical Thinker/Builder of Meaning.

My work here is guided by one of my greatest passions: exploring the ethical implications of emerging technologies.

When I’m not working or writing about tech and ethics, I indulge in my creative side. Music is a central passion in my life. I love composing music, DJing, and I also geek out over music-related data science, exploring the interplay between creativity and analytics.

My philosophy behind writing echoes that of Michel de Montaigne, the 16th-century French philosopher and writer: "Je n’enseigne point, je raconte" — "I do not instruct, I tell stories". I see my work as an invitation to reflect together rather than a directive, and I kindly ask readers to approach my musings with an open heart and a generous spirit. It is in this shared openness that deeper understanding can truly take root.
